Colors and Webdesign
Posted under Uncategorized, What's on my mindI never really looked into the subject of colors until I was in Web Design. Just look at what I discovered through a little research.
“Colors have remarkable effects on humans; just imagine switching colors in the world. Could we live with a yellow sky, fuchsia grass, or a black sun? The reality of this is we probably could not because we are so used to the symbolism of colors and its link in the natural world we live in” (Miclaus) Whether we realize it or not a natural absorbance of the colors is required for good health. With this said, color influences our society more than we might suspect.
When the importance of color is underestimated we make mistakes that affect us later in life. Take for instance; showing affection toward another person, love is the color red. Don’t we use the most important and affectionate words we can find?
I don’t have enough room to go through all the colors, but take the color pink for an example. It is considered to be the most romantic. But do not get too intense with this color, because bright pink has an influence that makes you loose energy. With this in mind, some schools paint the opponents’ locker team room this color in the hopes of losing energy before the game. Oh no, just thinking about this color might make me loose energy!
“Moreover, have you noticed the way insects are drawn to you when you wear light green and orange? It is funny how such a simple notion as color has so many consequences on our natural world.” (Miclaus) Green symbolizes the environment, calming and refreshing. Green is the easiest color for the eye to take in, and as a result can also improve vision.
So as Web Design class is not over yet, just keep this in mind the next time you create a page. Different colors give a different effect. As one sends you a message through color, you are also sending a message too!
